Day 1

One of our hiking guides, Colter.

The view from the highest point on today's hike.

Well I have made it through the first day! YAY ME!!

I am not going to try and sugar coat it, it was hard. Today's exercise consisted of a 4 mile hike, and four cardio classes. I will say though, as I am sitting here I feel a since of accomplishment, I am proud of myself for getting through it all. My body is achy but I am hoping stretch class in the morning will work out any kinks.

The atmosphere here is amazing! The trainers, staff and other guest are all friendly and supportive. I have been placed in the "Purple" group and am slowly getting to know everyone. It's so easy to walk in to a class though and strike up a conversation because you are both there for the same reasons.

It didn't take long for me to make my first purchase in the gift store! :) I bought a Polar watch and heart rate monitor. It is really cool, you just start it first thing in the morning and it keeps up with how many calories you burn in that day. A lady had one on today it she'd had already burned 3500 calories and we still had one cardio class left! I am pumped to see how many calories I burn tomorrow. Oh the fun fact for the day: It takes burning 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. Let that sink in....

Now for the fun part! Today's card wasn't randomly pulled from the pile, because this one has a gift attached! My BFF Erin gave my six gifts with each of them labeled which week I could open it. She was very strict about not opening any gift early! ;) This weeks gift was a journal so that I can have an actually keepsake from my journey. The gift came with a sweet card from Erin and my "niece" Carlea. Thank you Erin! I love it! I can't wait to get back home so we can pick up our Saturday night date night! Love ya! Kiss that sweet baby for me!

That's all she wrote for tonight, see you tomorrow!

  1. I am so proud of you! But, in the future, no more fun facts. They make me depressed! Love you!
